William (“Bill”) Ward has been programming in Perl since 1993 and teaching it since 1997. He got his start as a Unix system administrator, then switched to Web programming. He is the founder and owner of Bay View Training, teaches the company's Perl classes, and is available for on-site training and coaching in a range of subjects.
Past employers and consulting clients include Apple Computer, Cisco Systems, SGI, Cellmania, and Oracle. He was the Manager of Training at Cellmania, and has been teaching Perl at De Anza College off and on since 1999. He has been teaching Perl 101 and Perl 201 for Bay View Training since 2002.
Bill is also an active member of Toastmasters International. He has earned the Advanced Toastmaster Bronze, Competent Toastmaster, and Competent Leader awards, has served as club President as well as other offices, and in 2004 won the International Speech Contests at the club and area levels.
In his spare time, he enjoys dancing, soccer, and LEGO. He is a Linux enthusiast, and is the founder of the Peninsula Linux Users' Group. His LEGO blog is located at brickpile.com and you can find him on Facebook.
